Irene is 2 months old! (almost)

There is a LOT we could/should post about but it is late and I need to go to bed. These are some recent things of note:

-she LOVES to take baths now. She kicks so much and is really relaxed in the water. she is super calm and just loves for us to talk to her and dump warm water on her head/body.

-she really responds to talking. we have had several "conversations". she even gets fussy if you get distracted (by the television for example) and she'll let you know she doesn't appreciate it.

-she is really smiley (when all things are well)...she has the biggest smile that will melt your heart (like her momma!)...also has a sort of half smile that looks like her dad's little smirk.

-she weighs 14 lbs. and seems to be getting ginormous.

-she is sleeping for longer stretches. we've ventured into the 6 hour duration (occasionally)...more of these would be grand.

-Shannon and Irene had a great time in MN! Irene met lots of people who love her and we were really thankful for the shower thrown by our family/friends.

-this is the latest fun video...it is a tad long but you get a wide range of facial expressions AND it shows her trying to copy what we are doing with our tongues/mouths/etc, which she has been doing more and more of:

-and be sure to check out the new album!

I can't believe how much she has changed in just the last 2 weeks!! She looks like a baby now and not a little bitty teenie thing (if you know what I mean)
Some of those outfits look familiar, sooo cute!!!

"Get a grip and get on with it."
"Life is not fair."
"There is no free lunch."

What else do I need to know? Isn't that all there is? I am also beginning to play golf...the ultimate dad sport. I guess that is pretty much it.

The little furnace looks to be doing good.

I am glad i am having my kid in the winter.

Joff, you forgot "Walk it off." And "we'll see." Jar it seems sleeplessness is worth it.

She is so stinking cute. I am crossing my fingers and praying hard that I'll be able to come home for Thanksgiving so I can see 'my' baby niece, who, as mentioned above, is no longer so tiny.

nice video. vic and i think she looks like shannon. glad we could see her in action.

id like to think that as a baby she would have mastered the art of pooping, but im glad that you are covering your bases and teaching her how to make fart noises with her mouth.

yes. she looks alot like shannon...but we really flip flop and see lots of both of us at different times. that is the way it is supposed to be I guess. what we DO know is that her legs are going to be LONG! she is a very long baby girl. we went to dr. yesterday for her 2-month checkup and they double checked her length because it was "too long" the first time.

xavi = yup. sounds like you've got all the important ones down. and if you have 2 boys close in age, make sure you know the story of cain and abel. oh, and I'm glad you're having a kid in winter too. the little heaters must be welcomed in cold weather.

sleeplessness = exhaustion is a funny thing. mentally, the ability to deal with the world becomes much more challenging. I will say that Irene is helping to keep me sane right now. she makes me smile.

we hope you can come back for thanksgiving too...if not then, maybe we'll catch you driving through for Christmas and/or definitely when XM makes his appearance in January!

Erica = the outfits are grand!

don't forget about threatening to send them to military school.

sparky's dad, are you saying sparky has TUP?

btw, i like the word bumbo.

I was going to include the military school threat but I thought that might be rubbing it in a little too much on grandpa Los

I don't know what "TUP" is?

bumbo IS a funny word.

if you've ever read a bill simmons draft diary you should know what TUP is. picture jay bilas or dick vitale screaming about how "long" a player is.

yes. the funny/ironic thing is that I put this together in the car on the way home from the office a bit ago. I was just sitting their thinking about it and it hit me.

sorry to be a simmons slacker. my brain is a bit fried at the moment. honestly, I think this is what it feels like to go insane. too much information. too many variables. not enough time in the day. not enough sleep at night. it all adds up.

and yes, Irene has tremendous upside.

she is SO cute & gorgeous!! Do you want to start booking in her summer trips to the UK??

We could take her to meet the queen (not!), out for tea (for sure) I can take her shopping at Harrods (although Harvey Nix is best)and then we can send her home!

Can't wait to one day meet both your girls!

yes. hopefully someday you can meet (and corrupt) both of my girls! that would be fun. and funny.
